ProStart Competitions give high school students the chance to showcase their culinary and management skills in front of industry judges. Nebraska's top ProStart teams compete for scholarships and the opportunity to represent our state at the national level.
Nebraska ProStart Invitational
Each year, Nebraska ProStart teams compete in two categories:
- Culinary Arts – Teams prepare a three-course meal using a two-burner butane stove and no electricity in 60 minutes.
- Restaurant Management – Teams develop a complete restaurant concept and present their business plan to industry judges.
State Competition
Top teams from the Nebraska ProStart Invitational advance to the State Competition. State winners earn the right to compete at the NRAEF's National ProStart Invitational.
Scholarship Opportunities
ProStart competitors are eligible for scholarships from the Nebraska Restaurant Association Hospitality Education Foundation and from culinary schools nationwide.
